William Lee Golden (The Oak Ridge Boys)
Oil on Linen
48" x 36"
- To hear the best blend of voices in a male quartet, you need to hear The Oak Ridge Boys. As a matter of fact, they are not only great singers, they are special and humble men of God.
- They are compassionate, kind, and always willing to help others in need.
- They are very involved with Feed The Children Foundation feedthechildren.org and they are loving to all they meet. Its a pleasure to call them my brothers in Christ, and friends.
- Mr. Golden loves children and has written a book about Noah's Arc called “Noah, Didn’t it Rain?," based on the Oaks’ Gospel hit, "Didn’t it Rain."
- In my painting of Mr. Golden, I had a great time painting the whole portrait. The face, beard, leather jacket, pose and all the neat records around him were a real treat to paint as an artist.
- Speaking of artists, I have a special friendship with Mr. Golden, because he is an artist also. He enjoys painting landscapes using acrylic paints. They are bright, cheerful and really fun to see. You can view some of his paintings at williamleegolden.com
- William is very knowledgeable about past and present artists and their art. My guess is that he could carry on an extensive conversation with any art historian.
- The Oak Ridge Boys travel extensively throughout the year, but that doesn't stop Mr. Golden from painting. It's very relaxing for him to set up a portable easel and paint wherever he happens to be.
- Check out the oakridgeboys.com web site and concert schedule to learn more about this legendary singing group.
- If you care to see the original oil painting of MR. Golden, it is exhibited at their theatre in Branson,MO.
